Dreamworld Celebrates 30 years with a Massive Summer FUNomenon

Dreamworld turns the big three-o in 2011 and to celebrate the history and what is yet to come, the theme park is cranking up the excitement these holidays with the Dreamworld Summer FUNomenon.

The two parks will be bursting with fun and the best way to enjoy the season is with a $69 Summer Passport which gives the holder unlimited access to both Dreamworld and WhiteWater World until 30 June, 2011. Enjoy all your favourite thrills, test out the reloaded and reversed Tower of Terror II, spot our tiger cub Pi, or take in the brand new line-up of summer fun entertainment.

Ten new shows will be launched this holiday period and are set to make crowds of all ages laugh, gasp and cheer, from the tiniest tot to the biggest kid in the family.

Starting with the littlies, a touch of Wiggles World will appear in Main Street twice a day with the Wiggles Hits show which will feature brand new Wiggles characters based on the famous four and all their favourite songs for mini wigglers to move their feet. Plus, back by popular demand is the Dorothy the Dinosaur Show featuring Wags the Dog, Captain Feathersword, Fairy Clare and of course, Dorothy.

For those who enjoy plenty of gags, jokes and clowning around, the Goldie the Clown Show, featuring Dreamworld’s resident clown, will appear in Main Street each day and is bound to result in side-splitting laughter.

The perfect place to enjoy a cool drink and a spot out of the summer sun is in the recently renovated Dreamworld Cinemas where 3D short films will play throughout the day. Featured titles and session times are available in park.

Millions of Aussie kids have visited Dreamworld through its 30 years and someone who has made each one of them smile is Kenny the Koala, Dreamworld’s original mascot. Bringing back the memories, Kenny will be sporting his vintage outfit from the 80s and will welcome back Cooee the Gumnut Fairy for a special highlights show from Kenny’s 30 years.

Extended opening hours allow guests to catch more of the FUNomenon and as day turns to evening the real magic begins with an Illusion show featuring renowned comedy magician Matt Hollywood.

Last but not least is the 30 Year Jukebox Show which caps off the perfect day at Dreamworld. Live musicians will interact with the audience to generate a medley of songs that wrap up the past three decades of music hits. Reminisce about your first date back in ’92 or name the year you were born and the talented ensemble will perform the hits that were hip in that year.

Guests will also be able to take in the park’s Big 6 thrill rides, and WhiteWater World’s waterslide spills plus the Dreamworld Dreamtime show and the Australian Sheep Shearing Show in the all new Dreamworld Woolshed. Plus, duck into WhiteWater World for mass Slimings at the Nickelodeon Pipeline Plunge each day at 4pm and 5pm.

Dreamworld’s Summer FUNomenon kicks off from 27 December through to 21 January.
