Warner Bros. Movie World Announces Green Lantern Rollercoaster!

A shining new light will dawn upon Movie World this December with the opening of the new GREEN LANTERN rollercoaster. Guests will experience fun and thrills of a galactic proportion as they take on the steepest drop in the Southern Hemisphere. This new multimillion dollar rollercoaster will truly be in a league of its own!

“This exciting new ride will reach speeds of up to 66kmh and pull 3.5Gs on hairpin bends and a crazy inverted spin,” said Warner Bros. Movie World General Manager Bob White. “This amazing GREEN LANTERN rollercoaster is like no other coaster experience at Warner Bros. Movie World and is sure to be a hit with families and thrill seekers alike.”

The Green Lantern coaster will take the thrill factor to the extreme with 488 meters of electric green track and a gut wrenching drop of 120 degrees, well beyond vertical.

Guests can face their fear on the Green Lantern coaster by Christmas 2011, but beware, it’s not for the faint hearted.

MotoMonster Xtreme Tears into Movie World!

Monster truck mania and Freestyle Motocross superstars will take over Warner Bros. Movie World’s Hollywood Stunt Driver arena beginning tomorrow - June 24 until July 18 2011 - in a spectacular display of extreme motorsport.

The highlight of the new show entitled ‘MotoMonster Xtreme’ will be a 1000hp, 3.5M tall Monster Truck valued at $300,000 which performs unbelievable stunts.

‘MotoMonster Xtreme’ will also feature dare devil Freestyle Moto X riders defying gravity as they jump 75 feet through the air while performing edge of your seat tricks in a fearless display of FMX skill.

Movie World Show and Entertainment Manager Christophe Broadway said that this show will be an absolute highlight for the school holidays.

Movie World gets ready to celebrate a White Christmas


Celebrate a 'White Christmas' at Warner Bros. Movie World this December when your favourite theme park transforms into a winter wonderland over eight magical nights. Experience a spectacular display of one million fairy lights, rides, Polar Express 4-D experience, Santa and a dazzling Christmas Parade under a glistening white snowy sky. Plus all VIP Pass holders will be entitled to one free entry into White Christmas.

There are a limited number of admission tickets available for each night of the Warner Bros. Movie World White Christmas event.

White Christmas will operate from 6pm until 10pm on 9-12 December and 16-19 December.

Halloween Fright Nights 2010 at Movie World

This October ‘Fright Nights’ at Movie World will be the scariest yet… your favourite theme park will be transformed into a playground of nightmares when two of the world’s most popular horror film franchises; SAW and A Nightmare on Elm Street, will come back to life. For the first time in Movie World history, these two iconic movies will be recreated as mazes for the return of the highly acclaimed 2009 Fright Nights. In 2010, Fright Nights at Movie World will up the ante on all previous horror experiences and totally blow your mind… every waking moment will be filled with unexpected fear and even shadows in the darkness will play on your subconscious – “Was that Freddy lurking in the dark, or… did you just see Billy the Puppet hiding around the corner…?”

Fright Nights will be held at Warner Bros. Movie World on the 8th, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 29th, 30th and 31st of October 2010 from 6:00pm - 11:00pm. SUPERMAN ESCAPE, BATWING Spaceshot, LETHAL WEAPON and Wild West Falls will operate from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. All other attractions operate until 11:00pm.

WARNING: The event contains intense and explicit experiences and is not recommended for children under the age of 14 years.

No face coverings, masks or make-up that prevents facial identification are permitted. Costumes and light facial make-up only is permitted.

  • Zombie Motor Cross Live Show - 7pm and 8:30pm - An action packed live freestyle motocross show goes wrong when zombies attack! What starts out as a simple Free Style Motor Cross show goes very wrong when Zombies attack. The Cheerleaders put up a fight but the Zombies just won’t stop. Action packed Free Style Motor Cross jumps mixed with some fully sick gore. Located inside the Hollywood Stunt Driver arena.
  • The Offering - 10pm - The Priestesses of an ancient cult are performing their ritual dance but they need to find a sacrifice. They send their warriors find their quarry, after a short but bloody battle the ritual commences. Located in the Main Street Plaza.
  • Live Freak Show - This live show of grotesque and bizarre feats will have you hooked and wanting more. Located in Main Street.

Hollywood Stunt Driver

The glamorous world of Hollywood action film making is brought to life right before guests’ very eyes with the multimillion dollar Hollywood Stunt Driver Show.

Hollywood Stunt Driver opened on Boxing Day 2008 and immerses guests in a real-live action ‘working’ movie set.

Incorporating breathtaking stunts, precision driving, incredible scenes of exhilarating action and the performance of a cast and crew with immeasurable talent, Hollywood Stunt Driver is a show filled with action packed extravaganza!

The action packed Hollywood Stunt Driver attraction, is located on the site formerly known as the Police Academy Stunt Show, which closed in 2008, after 18,000 incredible action-packed, fun filled, breathtaking performances over 16 years, to make way for this exciting new chapter.

Warner Bros. Movie World - Police Academy Stunt Show - A New Era Begins!

For more than 18,000 incredible action-packed, fun filled, breathtaking performances over 16 years, the final curtain is set to fall on the ‘Police Academy Stunt Show’. Guests visiting Warner Bros. Movie World prior to the end of April will have their final opportunity to see one of the longest running stunt shows in the world.

The ‘Police Academy Stunt Show’ successfully premiered as the flagship live production for Warner Bros. Movie World in 1991. Halloween Family Fun at Warner Bros. Movie World

From Tuesday 30th October thru to Thursday 1st November, Warner Bros. Movie World will host three fantastic Halloween Family Fun night-time events from 5.45pm to 9.00pm each night; join Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc gang as they enjoy all the mystery and intrigue associated with a night of ghoulish fun and scary antics.

There’ll be a host of spooky special guests including all your favourite Movie World characters and loads of entertainment taking place in the ghostly atmosfear of Main St, with a selection of spine tingling thrills and chills on the Big Screen and spooky happenings throughout the park – heaps of ghostly games will be played and great prizes will be won.

Prizes for the best fancy dress costume and free Trick or Treat for the kids; presented by Cadbury. All this, plus the fun of Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster, Shrek 4-D Adventure, Superman Escape, Batwing Spaceshot and heaps of eerie entertainment to keep you on your toes!

Sci-Fi Fantasy Night at Warner Bros. Movie World

As the official evening event for the annual Supanova Pop Culture Expo in Brisbane, Warner Bros. Movie World on the Gold Coast will be transformed into an incredible out-of-this-world Sci-Fi venue for one night only. Tickets selling fast!

On Saturday night 14th April, Movie World will become the final frontier. For one night only, from 6.00pm-10.00pm the park will come alive with a gamut of galactic fun and excitement. There will be rides, exclusive Sci-Fi shows and special guest star appearances by legends of the big screen including actor Billy Dee Williams “Lando Calrissian” from The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, along with Clayton Watson from The Matrix Trilogy. These amazing stars of the big screen will be appearing on centre stage Main Street, for an exclusive Q & A session.

Guests in park will be transported to the next dimension as they are joined by Sci-Fi characters, never before seen at Movie World. The cyber space atmosphere will include extra terrestrial sightings and the rare appearance of Martian Manhunter who will once again be re-united with the Justice League. The younger generation will also be enthralled by the antics of Duck Dodgers and his nemesis Marvin the Martian.

To celebrate all the excitement, fun and entertainment of this spectacular night time Sci-Fi event, guests will be required to dress in their most inter-galactic Sci-Fi outfit. There will be prizes, games and heaps of entertainment plus all the coast’s best rides like Batwing Spaceshot - more G force than a Space Shuttle launch! And Superman Escape rollercoaster, travel 0-100klms in 2 seconds flat!

From out of this world and beyond the darkness comes a fantastic new Super Hero thrill ride attraction for Warner Bros. Movie World!

BATWING SPACESHOT, the latest in cutting edge, adrenalin pumping thrill rides was launched on Wednesday 20th December 2006 to complement the fantastic array of extreme rides now on offer at the Gold Coast’s favourite theme park.

The awesome new Batwing Spaceshot is a rapid 4.5G vertical launch up a 60 meter tower, followed by a drop into a breathtaking negative descent – beyond freefall!

Batwing Spaceshot is the first of its kind in Australia, and adopts the theme of one of DC Comic’s most popular Super Heroes, Batman.

Due to the overwhelming success of ticket sales, Warner Bros. Movie World has officially announced a complete sell-out for Halloween Family Fun at Movie World!

Tickets for the evening have been totally sold out and will no longer be available for purchase from the front gates on the night. Guests that may have missed out on purchasing tickets this year will need to put it in the diary for next year, and remember to pre-book!

For those people who have already pre-booked, Tuesday 31st October, from 5.45pm to 9.00pm, is set to be the best Halloween Family Fun at Warner Bros. Movie World. The new Batmobile has hit the streets of Warner Bros. Movie World!

Warner Bros. Movie World has taken the experience to a whole new dimension with the exclusive daily appearance of the awesome new Batmobile from the hit film Batman Begins!

The Batmobile, an integral part of the legend of Batman, is a design hybrid of a Humvee and a Lamborghini that combines the functionality of a tank and the finesse of a sports car.

In the past the Batmobile has been presented as a contemporary vehicle, but with a slight sense of exaggeration and extremity to it. This new Batmobile is no different although a little more extreme.

Some of Australia's Fastest have gone Superman Fast on Warner Bros. Movie World's Superman Escape

To celebrate the December 26 opening of Warner Bros. Movie World’s awesome new Superman Escape, on Thursday December 22 some of the country’s FASTEST stars have gone SUPERMAN fast test-riding Australia’s only catapult rollercoaster which travels 0-100 kms/h in just 2 seconds!

From swimmers, sprinters and surfers to speed skaters, racing car drivers and footballers - a selection of some of Australia’s fastest sporting talent experienced 760 metres of vertical climbs, weightless drops, head spinning twists and giant G-force turns on the awesome new Superman Escape – which completely redefines the coaster experience.

The fast celebrities braving the awesome new ride are as follows:

MATT SHIRVINGTON. After five consecutive years of sole dominance of the 100m Australian Title, Matt placed second to Patrick Johnson at the 2003 Australian Championships. However, he responded by clocking 10.09 seconds, the fastest ever legal time by an Australian on home soil, at the last of the Telstra A-series meets for the 2003 domestic season.

LIBBY LENTON. Queensland Academy of Sport athlete Libby was recently named the Short Course Swimmer of the Year and the Female Sprint and Distance Swimmer of the Year at the Australian Swimming Awards. At the recent World Championships (Montreal) she took home three Gold Medals and two Silver Medals. In the Australian Short Course Championships 100m freestyle semi final she broke short course world record in a time of 51.70, making her the first woman to go under the 52 sec barrier.

LEISEL JONES. Leisel, also a Queensland Academy of Sport athlete, was named the 2005 World Swimmer of the Year along with Grant Hackett. It is only the second time that two Australians have won the award. In the recent World Championships (Montreal) Leisel took home three Gold Medals and set a new world record in the 200m breaststroke (2.21.72).

STEVEN JOHNSON. Steven is the current V8 Supercar driver with two round wins to his credit, the pilot of the number 17 First Rock Home Loan’s car is a consistent top 10 finisher in arguably the world’s most competitive touring car series.

WILL DAVISON. Will is the newly appointed driver of the number 18 V8 Telecom car in the V8 Supercars series. Will has previously tested a Formula 1 car and is the current driver in the Australian entry in the A1 grand prix series.

DREW MITCHELL. Wallaby and The Reds leading try scorer in 2005 with four in 11 Super 12 games - Drew’s exceptional speed means he can play at fullback, wing or outside centre. When he wasn’t playing rugby in his school days, he participated in athletics as a sprinter. The last occasion he timed himself (which was a while ago) he ran sub-five second 40m. Drew won his first Wallabies cap in 2005, scoring on debut against the Springboks and has continued his knack of finding the line, scoring six tries in ten Tests.

ALEX BROSQUE. Queensland Roar’s immensely talented and swift left-sided striker has represented Australia at senior level, playing in all of Australia’s games at the 2004 Olympics. Brosque is one of Australia’s brightest talents and is destined for great things on both the local and international stages. Fellow Queensland Roar player JONTI RICHTER is a crowd favourite. This exciting and dynamic attacker has represented Australia at Under 20 level. Richter’s pace and skill has tormented defenders in the inaugural Hyundai A-League season.

JOSH KERR. World Aerial Surfing Champion Josh became internationally known through flying high and landing perfectly on some of the world’s best waves.

KY HURST. Australia's greatest ironman Ky, is now focusing on becoming an Australian Olympian.

STEVEN BRADBURY. Speed Skater Steven created history in Salt Lake City when he became the first Australian to win a Winter Olympic Gold Medal His remarkable and unlikely victory was achieved after a spectacular final-lap spill took out his four rivals.

JOE DAWES. The second leading wicket-taker for the Bulls in 2004-05, with 46 at 21.93, his best season since 2000-01 (49). Joe passed 200 first class wickets for Queensland last season, the eighth bowler to do so for this State. The burly right-arm fast bowler operates off half the run-up these days but with the same effectiveness and speed as his old “Fred Flintstone”-like charge from near the boundary. Currently recovering from knee surgery, he is aiming to be back in the Bulls colours after Christmas.

BEN IKIN. Former Australian Kangaroo, State of Origin and Broncos rugby league player and JOHN CARTWRIGHT - Former State of Origin and Australian player and now National Rugby League coach of the new Titans Rugby League Team.

DANIEL PEDERSEN. Daniel will be representing Australia in the fast up and coming sport of Inline Hockey (similar to ice hockey just on roller blades) this year on the Gold Coast. This is the first time Australia has hosted the World Inline Cup. Previously he has represented Australian five times being one of Australia’s most talented and fastest players on the team.
