White Lions, laser lights and lounging luxury are on offer at Dreamworld and WhiteWater World this Easter holiday period when the theme parks launch two brand new offerings and bring back a night time favourite with unlimited entry until 30 June for $69 per person.
This Easter, Dreamworld will open the doors to a brand new exotic animal exhibit known as The Lair. For the first time ever on the Gold Coast, Dreamworld guests will be able to get up close to two rare White Lions as they roam around the new enclosure for this school holiday period only.
The White Lion is native to the Timbavati region of South Africa, and these native influences have been incorporated into the design of The Lair to create authentic surroundings for these amazing creatures.
Guests will enter a traditional Timbavati village and learn about the plight of one of the world’s most rare big cats and discover the Zulu significance of spotting a White Lion. As guests venture deeper into the village they reach a rocky outcrop and come face to face with The White Lion.
The highly interactive exhibit allows guests to literally walk alongside the jungle kings and come face to face with them feeling their breath through slatted panels, all safely behind purpose built, triple laminated, toughened glass, built to withstand the force of a 200kg lion.
There are less than 100 white lions remaining in the world, so seeing a White Lion at Dreamworld this Easter holidays could be a once in a lifetime opportunity and serves as an excellent reminder that humans can help to conserve big cats in the wild.
Be sure to test out the park’s Big 6 thrill rides and all the worlds of family fun of Nickelodeon Central, Wiggles World and the Australian Wildlife Experience before flashing your Unlimited World Pass at the interconnecting gate to access all the high powered waterslide spills of WhiteWater World.
Take on the park’s adrenaline slides including The Wedgie, The Green Room and The HydroCoaster, or let your littlies go wild in Nickelodeon’s Pipeline Plunge and Wiggle Bay before retreating to your own private poolside Cabana, complete with deck chairs, couches, coffee table, iPod dock, freshly laundered towels, mini refrigerator and cabana service person for all your additional needs.
For the introductory price of $89 you can rent one of 12 new WhiteWater World Cabanas for a full day providing you with a private space to enjoy some relaxation out of the sun and away from the crowds. Located throughout WhiteWater World, Cabanas are designed to comfortably fit up to four people and will sell out quickly so book online prior to your next visit.
During the Easter school holidays Dreamworld will stay open late and as the sun goes down the park’s Main Street will once again be transformed into a light and laser spectacular as the park brings back Illuminate.
Brought to Dreamworld by Laservision, the creators of the world’s largest light and sound show - Hong Kong’s Symphony of Lights – Illuminate will present the finale to the ultimate Dreamworld and WhiteWater World day with a 10 minute show, charged with four-metre high water screens, special effects, pyrotechnics, surround sound and digital image projection.
While in Dreamworld check out the new Dreamworld Cinema and book a ticket for an upcoming session of Rio, the latest 3D animated movie from the creator’s of ‘Ice Age.’ Set in the magnificent city of Rio de Janeiro and the lush rainforest of Brazil, the comedy-adventure centres on Blu, a rare macaw who thinks he is the last of his kind, until he finds another.
Dreamworld Cinema boasts one of the largest screens in the region at one of the best value cinema tickets on the Gold Coast and is accessible to locals and visitors without a Dreamworld entry pass. Cinema tickets start at $9 for children and $12 for adults for 2D films and $12 for children and $15 for adults for RealD 3D movies.

Aussie World invests in new amusement rides
The Sunshine Coast's Aussie World fun park is investing over two million dollars by opening two new rides, the first one opening just in time for the important Easter holidays.
The first new ride is called the Giant Redback, a ride manufactured in Italy by thrill ride and rollercoaster design and manufacturing company Zamperla. The other ride (due to open later this year) will be first of its kind on the Sunshine Coast.
These two new rides will enhance current attractions, which include the Wild Mouse Rollercoaster, Ferris Wheel, Rock n Roll Rebel Dark Ride and over 30 rides and games already onsite.
Targeting those with an adventurous spirit, the Giant Redback promises to be the Sunshine Coast's most thrilling ride. It seats 24 people, is an impressive 16 metres in height and has clockwise and anticlockwise circular rotations on a platform with outward facing seats.
"We are thrilled to provide these new attractions," says David Thomson, General Manager. "Our hope is this will give even more reason for people, domestic, international and the corporate business market, to visit the naturally refreshing Sunshine Coast."
The Aussie World complex is located on the Bruce Highway, Sunshine Coast and includes the famous and iconic Ettamogah Pub and ever popular retail shopping strip.
Management and unique diversity of the complex has allowed it to successfully forge through the recent tough economic situation to be able to make this significant investment.
