The Wiggles Hit Dreamworld

In 2006, The Wiggles toured the world, won their 5th ARIA Award for Best Children’s Release, LIVE HOT POTATOES and were named Australian Exporter Of The Year.

Today, The Wiggles celebrated another milestone, their 15th birthday and what better place to party than in their very own mini-theme park, the world’s first and only Wiggles World.

Opened September 2005, Wiggles World is filled with colour and music and is the ultimate place for wiggly fans to play, dance and sing with their favourite wiggly friends every day of the year.

The day kicked off at Dreamworld Studios with an exclusive hour long Wiggles Concert where celebrities, media personalities, prize winners and some very special families from Make A Wish, Starlight Foundation, Royal Childrens Hospital, Heart Kids, AEIOU, Childhood Cancer Support, Gold Coast Childrens Hospital and The Leukaemia Foundation wiggled their worries away.

Then it was down to Wiggles World for another birthday celebration. Wiggles World tuned one and to mark the occasion, The Wiggles launched a brand new attraction - Dorothy's Rosy Tea Cup Ride.

Dreamworld CEO, Stephen Gregg presented The Wiggles with a special birthday cake before they cut the ribbon and climbed aboard for a cup of tea, Dreamworld style.

Dorothy’s Rosy Tea Cup Ride is thrills for three year olds where fans can whirl and twirl inside Dorothy’s giant tea cups.

Today, Dreamworld guests were thrilled to be among the first to take a spin around the wiggliest tea party in the world!

The Wiggles also took time out for a special cuddle with some of Dreamworld’s favourite furry friends from The Australian Wildlife Experience.

Dreamworld is a Gold Sponsor and the Australian Koala Foundation and The Wiggles are the Official Ambassadors for Save the Koala Month, 2006.

The Wiggles gave their new friends the “Koala Thumbs Up” urging everybody to help out on Save The Koala Day, Friday September 29, 2006.

This year marks the Australian Koala Foundation's 20th anniversary, for more information, check out www.savethekoala.com.

Dreamworld guests lined the streets in anticipation for the final farewell, Wiggles On Parade.

Pint sized pop fans formed mini mosh pits as the entertainment giants joined The Wiggles Friends and wiggly dancers in a convoy of wiggly fun on Ocean Parade.

Wiggles On Parade concluded with a few wiggly songs with wiggly fans savoring every minute of the mania.

The Wiggles have taken over the world in terms of pint-sized popularity and the creation of a tangible Wiggles experience at Dreamworld has been a dream come true for wiggly fans from around the world.

Children can dance with Dorothy the Dinosaur, shake their hips with Wags the Dog, tickle and sing with Captain Feathersword and wave and wiggle with Henry the Octopus every day of the year.

It’s also the only place in the world where children can ride in The Big Red Car, learn and play at The Fun Spot Activity Centre, sail the seas on the S.S Feathersword and interact with bouncing barnyard babies at The Wiggles Farmyard Friends.

Wiggles World is a haven for creative expression and positive social interaction taking children right to the centre of The Wiggles’ wiggly world.

Wiggles World is packed full of fun and interactive play. From healthy food options to shaded rest spots and parenting rooms, you can wiggle without the worry.

Wiggles World is also home to the world’s largest Wiggles Shop filled with all your favourite music, videos and DVDs. Or create your own wiggly photograph using the magic of Green Screen.

Dreamworld Chief Executive Officer Stephen Gregg said Wiggles World complements Dreamworld’s signature attractions and has further enhanced the park’s popularity with children and their families from Australia and across the world.

“This partnership joins two great Australian entertainment icons that are both leaders in their fields. We’re extremely excited about the relationship and the future opportunities it will bring. The international popularity of The Wiggles provides a wonderful opportunity for the Tourism Industry. The Gold Coast and specifically Dreamworld now hold a whole new appeal in markets where the Wiggles are incredibly strong,” Mr Gregg said.

Dreamworld is home to some of the tallest, fastest thrill rides in the world, Nick Central, Tiger Island, The Australian Wildlife Experience, Big Brother and FlowRider.
